April 6th, 2010 : Earth Hour - some people love 'em, some people hate 'em. What about you? While some people take advantage of this occasion to make some cash through promotions and parties (hint: Starbucks, etc), other people would go about their own parties, driving to mountain tops to celebrate and so forth. Seriously? I don't suppose an hour of turning all the lights off to remind ourselves of mother nature would be compensated by the thousand others who would add more pollution to the world. Pffft.

I have friends and colleagues who acted like they really cared about the Earth. On the Earth Hour day, they reminded people to turn off the lights in Facebook, Twitter, and whatnots. They probably did this just to show off and they overlooked the underlying message of the Earth Hour. It is very ironic to see them chucking away piles of paper into dustbin, requesting for a plastic bag even though the items they buy can be carried by hand, etc. They can do their bits for the Earth on a daily basis. But they only do it once a year for merely an hour. Dan/Kit, please do use your creative platform to educate the people about loving our mother nature.
