7 famous comic books are banned from circulation in the world

Related to political, religious or pornographic issues are the main reasons why the following popular comic books are banned in many countries.


1. Ultraman

In 2014, the cult series Ultraman: The Ultra Power is banned in Malaysia due to the use of the word Allah – the name of the supreme saint of Islam, the main religion in this country. Allah is mentioned in the story next to the superheroes, which is said to be his lowering behavior. Malaysia’s Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement about the ban: “Ultraman is admired by the younger generation, but the act of comparing Allah with these superheroes will cause deviations in public thinking and faith”. Story owners can be imprisoned for up to 3 years or slightly, paying a fine of USD 6,000.

The comic series was accused by authorities of encouraging social evils and containing many Christian symbols. The Death Note comic book is banned in China, the story of Light Yagami student who uses supernatural methods to destroy criminals is considered wild and illegal.
